The "Point":
What was to come after that came quickly and in just a couple of years she appeared in her first movie The Shocking Miss Pilgrim. Stardom took hold and it seemed that almost over night she exploded on to the Hollywood scene.
Behind the glitz and glam there was a terrified girl who longed to be loved. Maybe you can relate? A girl's biggest fear is abandonment. Rejection. How many times have you felt the pain of a broken heart? From a father, a friend, or a boy? The pain can sometimes be unbearable. I know someone who is very dear to me who lived a similar life as Miss. Monroe did. Fatherless, with numerous brothers and sisters, and raped on three occasions by the age of 13. She described it as a nightmare. All three rapists were people that she loved and all three continued to be a part of her life. Cousin, uncle, and brother. No one knew the pain and heartache that would consume her daily and she dare not tell anyone.

Marilyn Monroe, one of the most talked about beauties in history. With platinum bleached hair, red lips, and that perfect smile, who could deny her beauty? To this day, she is still extremely popular. You can find her picture in every part of the world. Unfortunately no one reads the story behind the smile. No one really knows who she was, all people knew and know is what she was. An actress. A sex icon. A mistress.
Marilyn Monroe was born Norma Jean Mortenson and later baptized as Norma Jean Baker. She spent the majority of her life in foster care as her mother was mentally unstable and later on admitted into a mental institution. With every foster home she arrived to she had either been sexually assaulted or attempts had been made. She never had a father-like figure. She married when she was sixteen in fear of being shipped off to another foster home. While her husband, James Dougherty, was off at war she found a job inspecting parachutes with the Radio Plane Munitions Factory. During her time there a picture was taken of her and published in Yank Magazine. Within a couple of months she had a contract with The Blue Book Modeling Agency. Soon after she divorced her husband.
The name Marilyn Monroe came after meeting Ben Lyon of 20th Century Fox Entertainment. He decided that "Norma Jean" was not a an appropriate stage name and thus was born Marilyn Monroe.
After years of film and two divorces under her belt, she became mentally unstable and began her drug and alcohol abuse. By 1961, she had her third divorce. Within months she checked herself in to a psychiatric clinic. She later returned to California and lived in a rented apartment. On May 19,1962 she attended the president, JFK's, birthday. It was after that visit that JFK became fond of Marilyn and saw her on only one occasion. Friends of JFK say that he rejected her and told her that she was a problem and simply just another trophy on his wall. On August 5, 1962 she was found dead. It was later said that she had an obscene amount of drugs in her system. She was 36 years old.

Years later she married a good man. He loved her dearly and took good care of her. She became pregnant and gave birth to a little boy. Soon after a girl and not long after had another baby. A couple years later she began to feel a sensation that something was missing in her life. She had a wonderful husband, three beautiful children, but the pain from her past continued to haunt her. She became friends with a neighbor who invited her to a near by church. Reluctant, she agreed. She went with the whole family and that night gave her life to Jesus. She was immediately flushed with joy and God began to heal her heart. She had never felt "clean" before as after the rape, she "...was left dirty and used." During this time many wonderful people surrounded her with love. She allowed Jesus to repair all the damage that her rapists try to inflict and she was able to forgive them all. Her life would never be the same. She got her degree in education and to this day is changing the world with her new heart.
In today's society the image of Jesus has been tainted. It has been described as a myth or an old way of living. But Jesus is relevant and more alive today than ever! He is the only one capable of healing deep down inside.

Even WE cannot repair damage that has stabbed our souls for eternity. He helps us forgive and helps us move on. He is the only one that offers life and joy. He is true happiness.
Many people chose the outward appearance that clings to a false sense of comfort and even worse, false hope. It relies on money, sex, beauty, fame leaving its followers empty and searching for the next best thing.
I made the choice to let Jesus heal my heart from multiple moments where I thought it to be impossible for there to be healing. Every time he has proven me wrong. When pain and difficulties come, I run to Him because I know that with Him I am safe. I am so grateful to not only be loved by someone no matter what I do or what others may say, but to have someone that TRULY knows my heart and loves me just as I am...
