The "Look":
To hide..... =OR= |
to let shine?
I have this crazy obession with freckles! I think they are so beautiful! As a kid, my dad would always tell me how much he loved mine and to this day calls me "Freckle". There are many of you that consider love to be the exact opposite feeling of how you feel about your freckles. In these two photos Lindsay Lohan looks beautiful! Her makeup artist on both ocassions knew how to achieve the desired look. The point is that the makeup isn't wearing her. She is wearing the makeup. When you find the right foundation you can cover up flaws and still look natural! Unless your going to a mascarade, lets leave the mask at home yes?
The "Products":

The "Point":
"So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God."
Romans 10:17
The other day I had a very intense conversation with a very amazing person. We were talking about his past and how verbally abusive kids were to him while he was in school. Everyone would call him derogatory names referring to him as being homosexual because he was different. He tells me that to this day he cannot stand those words that have wounded him deep in his heart. At first, not knowing what those words meant he ignored them. As he grew so did his understanding and with that understanding came doubt of who he was. It really all started with one word. And with that one word it spirrald into a thought. That thought turned into an emotion. That emotion then turned into a behavor and all it took...was ONE WORD.
Many of us have these crazy beliefs about ourselves that we deem true simply because of an experience but mostly because someone "told"us that it was true. As a kid I was constantly reminded that I was a failure. That thought became an emotion or a feeling and soon turned into a behavior. I became a people pleaser and wanted so badly to win the approval of everyone but especially my leaders. I was always so thirsty for hearing some one say, "Good job!" And when they didn't I would beat myself up. I also had an intese fear of failure. 99.9% of the time I would stay on the safe side and rarely did I like making desicions in fear it would all crumble and the blame would fall on my shoulders. Little did I know that God was really saying this:
"The steps of the good man are directed by the Lord. He delights in each step they take. If they fall it isn't fatal, for the Lord holds them with his hand."
Psalm 37:23-24
"God is our refuge and strength, an ever present help in trouble."
Psalm 46:1
Too many times we buy into what peole say instead of focusing on what God says about us. We even give into crazy lies that Satan whispers into our ears to try and destroy us.
"She is so much prettier than you..."
"You will never amount to nothing, you are a failure."
"You are dirty and unlovable..."
"No one is going to marry you, you will be alone forever."
"You aren't worth anyone's time...give up."
"God doesn't love you...not after what you just did."
"He will never forgive you."
"Prayer is useless, He doesn't care and he will not answer."
Belive it or not, I gave in to every single one of these lies. I believed all these things to be true based on an experience or something that was said to me. I had to search deep inside and forgive those who had harmed my heart and re-program my thought life. I got rid of all the MUSIC that only gave life to those lies as well. The devil is out to steal our lives and make us forget who we are in Jesus and what a friend we have in him. When you are faced with these and the gazillion lies that come to your head you must remember this:
"We are told to take captive very thought we have and are presented with and make it obedient to Christ. We should demolish anything that is contrary to the knowledge we have of God."
2 Corinthians 10:5
How do you know that it's a lie? Ask yourself this:
1. Is this thought bringing me closer to God?
2. Does this thought make me feel happy or angry?
3. Who/What told me this and deemed it to be true?
99% of crazy thoughts that come into our head are ones that need to be tossed out into the trash! They are no good! How do we overcome negative thoughts towards ourselves? STOP listening to people who aren't important and START listening to people who are around to encourage you. THAT will bring HEALING TO WOUNDS that have been around for years and for some decades. Read things out loud especially the Bible so you can physically hear what God thinks about you! You can look up specific verses for whatever your dealing with and read them over and over. Post them on your wall in your bed room! Right now my husband and I have 5 verses about faith that have been on our walls for about 3 months. We needed that boost after I left my job and money became tight. At first I thought they looked kinda tacky but after reading them over and over they have brought so much peace and joy to my life. So much that when a bill seems like it might not get paid, my eyes search for those verses and gives me faith to believe that GOD is the owner of EVERYTHING and he is my God who PROVIDES! After you read this post I would love it if you had a second with God. If you journal write it. Ask God to reveal to you what lies you have believed about yourself and to help you start working towards believing the truth. I promise that you will be surprised with what you may find. Remember our actions are based on an emotion and an emotion is based on a thought...Trace the Base for your belief of YOU.
