Oh Spidey!!! Yes, yes...there was a Spider-Girl! And as "glamorous" as it all may seem, let's leave the spider business up to the pros and take a closer look at our skin. Weather on your face, or on your body spider veins are less than decorative. They may not be that noticeable now but in due time they will be if we aren't careful with certain things that we may be applying on our faces. SPF, foundation, the brushes we use to apply our make-up...yep, all determining factors. We work hard today ladies, so later we can look like super heroes!
The "Look":
Many of us aren't even aware that we posses spider veins on our face. The unfortunate thing is that with time they will progressively get worse and that is something we may be able to avoid. Spider veins are usually found on sensitive skin. And even though you may not have sensitive skin all over, there may be just a certain area of your face that is. So when applying your foundation pay close attention to the surface of your skin, spider veins may be lurking!
First and foremost it is important to understand what causes spider veins. In minimal words, it is oxygen depleted blood that pumps in and out of the vein or capillary and pools there. The vein inflates thus causing a spider vein.
So how can we prevent these venomous veins from taking over our face? There are a few simple steps to live by to help you avoid the poison.
2. If you are out in the sun WEAR A SUN SCREEN! I can't stress this enough!!! Sunscreen will protect you from lots of headaches in the future. Try to reapply every two hours! If you have make-up on, there are some really great powder sun screens out there! You can also wear hats, sun glasses, ect.
3. Keep your face out of the cold! Again, wear protective gear to shield that lovely face from those harsh winters! Scarves, sunglasses and yes....SUN SCREEN! Just cause you don't see the sun doesn't mean that the harmful UV rays aren't around! They are ALWAYS there!!!
4. When applying foundation in liquid try to use a brush or even better a spray foundation or airbrush. The less you touch your face, the less likely you will irritate the skin.
5. When looking for a foundation, try to look for formulas that cater to sensitive skin or skin with rosacea. This will keep any harsh chemicals away from your face.
6. Be very careful when applying your blush as most spider veins are found near the cheek area. When using a brush, try to find soft bristled ones. The harder brushes can and eventually will cause more damage so be gentile!
7. I would stay away from any grainy scrubs. Stick to masks that can do the same job with out beating your face up!

The "Point":
Venom. It's something that is usually unseen. It creeps into our veins, attacks our hearts and destroys everything that is inside of us. It will leave you weak and unable to defend yourself from the predator. It has the potential to kill and probably will if if and when it reaches the heart. It takes over...
"Now the acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God." Galatians 5:10-21 (NIV)
Who are you?
Who have you become?
Are you impacting those around you positively?
What will the say when you are gone?
"She is a great person!"
"Wish her the best..."
"She was different."
"She CHANGED MY LIFE."
We are surrounded by decisions. We have the choice to do things right or to do things our way. We by human nature, want to do the opposite of what we should do. Take kids for example, who teaches them to bite? They automatically have the instinct to harm others for what they want or when they are angry. The majority of us as we grow are taught to do differently. But every once in a while our childhood creeps up on us and tries to take over. I once knew this girl that was physically beautiful but had such an angry heart that it totally negated any beauty that the eye could see. She was the type that disliked you the first moment you did something to cross her. She was vile, spread rumors about people, and it seemed that almost everyone that got close to her....became her and I was desperate to reach her. It took everything inside of me to not hate her and the way she was. I tried to honor her and show her love but it seemed that the more I tried, the more venomous she would become. I eventually separated myself from her in hopes that one day she would experience what it means to truly be free. Without me even realizing it, I almost became what I tried to fight, simply by allowing bitterness and rage and almost hatred to enter into my veins. She almost had influence on me just by rejecting me! Do I believe she can change? Yes! But the change must start from the place it began...the mind.
"Be alert and sober of mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour." 1 Peter 5:8
There is something that must be made clear, we do not fight against people! We fight against the unseen. There are evils that come at us full force and if our hearts aren't right their fangs sink deep into our skin and kill us off almost with no effort. What good are we then? What will we add to this world and to others if we are too busy trying to clean up our own mess? How will we ever succeed? Open your eyes and look around for a moment. Understand what and how you are effecting those around you. Make a conscience decision to be different and if you have to let people go...then let them go. Do it for your family, for your business, do it for your church, do it for YOU. Venom only leads to destruction but the anecdote leads to LIFE! Breath in deep...this will only hurt a second, now go ahead and suck the venom out!-MUA!
P.S. Good ALWAYS wins.
